7K a year Activities and Responsibilities Monitors the calibration status of all measurement, gaging, and inspection equipment used within the plant, to include nut runners, load cells, and LVDTs.
Maintain safety stock of hand gauges and replace shop floor gauges due for calibration as needed.
Coordinates with outside contractors to calibrate all gauges that require 3rd party validation.
Maintains accurate calibration certificates, risk assessments, and corresponding gauge tracking software.
Assist Manufacturing Engineering with OK/NG master parts.
Maintain a log of such devices and coordinate periodic validation activities.
Examines measurement and gaging devices, at prescribed intervals, and records calibration activities to establish a traceable history of events.
Working with the Quality Lab supervisor, conducts frequent audits of the shop floor and other areas where gauges and master parts are used to ensure compliance to gauge control procedures.
Works with maintenance department to maintain calibration schedule for manufacturing equipment.
Organizes and conducts measurement systems analysis for gauge families as needed.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
